Powermatic Introduces 2014B Lathe,

Delivering Professional Performance in a Compact Design

LA VERGNE, TENNESSEE – June 2026 – Powermatic, the premium woodworking machinery brand of JPW Industries, introduces the new Powermatic 2014B Lathe, a machine engineered to deliver professional turning performance with the durability, precision and versatility woodworkers demand.

Introduced as part of Powermatic’s continued product innovation roadmap and “The Powermatic Difference” brand revitalization, the 2014B lathe combines heavy-duty construction with modern features designed to enhance usability, durability and overall turning performance. Built to reduce vibration, improve control and expand turning capability, the 2014B lathe delivers smooth, consistent performance across a wide range of turning applications.

“The 2014B lathe reflects exactly where Powermatic is headed with our product innovation strategy,” said Jay Misas, Sr. Manager, Product Management, Powermatic. “We are combining the legendary durability and precision that Powermatic is known for with modern features that help woodturners work more efficiently, comfortably and confidently. Just as important, we’re backing that performance with the service, support, and long-term ownership confidence that define The Powermatic Difference.”

At the core of the 2014B is heavy-duty, cast iron construction across the bed, legs, headstock and tailstock, giving the machine the rigidity serious turners demand. An improved adjustable leg stand design further enhances stability for smoother cuts and better overall control.

Powered by a 1-horsepower, variable-frequency drive motor with three-phase output, the lathe offers variable speeds from 15 to 3,600 RPM for smooth, precise operation across a variety of turning applications. With a 14-inch swing and 20 inches between centers, the 2014B provides the flexibility needed for both detailed work and larger projects.

Features designed to improve usability and versatility include:
• Sliding headstock for outboard turning applications
• 24-position indexing for accurate and repeatable layout projects (e.g., fluting or decorative detailing)
• Enhanced, magnetic-backed, repositionable control box for convenience and safety
• Improved stand adds stability for smoother, more confident work.
• New tool rest with a hardened steel top rod for long-lasting durability and control
• Optional bed extension (sold separately) adds expanded turning capacity

The launch of the 2014B also reinforces Powermatic’s broader commitment to delivering “The Powermatic Difference” through product innovation, enhanced educational resources and expanded service and support.

Every 2014B lathe is backed by Powermatic’s Gold Glove Service and an industry-leading 5-year warranty, providing woodturners with long-term ownership confidence well beyond the initial purchase. Users gain access to dedicated U.S.-based technical support, a nationwide network of authorized service centers, and comprehensive parts support designed to keep machines running at their best for years to come.”
